Wayne County Recycling Policies
Wayne County passed a Solid Waste Management Law which makes recycling mandatory for all residences, institutions, industries, commercial locations, and public areas, as required by New York State Law.
Recycling collection is occasionally delayed because of weather-related events. When Wayne County declares a "Travel Advisory" or weather-related state of emergency the recycling trucks will not complete their routes. Recycling Collection will be delayed to the next day. Announcements will be on Rochester radio and television stations if the recycling collection is delayed.
