  Yates County Recycling Materials

Yates County passed a Solid Waste Management Law which makes recycling mandatory for all residences, institutions, industries, commercial locations, and public areas, as required by New York State Law. Trash haulers are responsible for collecting recycling materials as well as trash.  Recycling materials must be kept separate from the trash and may not be mixed together once they have been separated.  The list of materials is mandated by the Yates County Law.   See the list of materials collected in Yates County here.

Pharmaceutical Collection: The Water Street Pharmacy in Dundee has a program to collect medications.  Residents may bring in old, unused and unwanted medications for safe disposal.  The exception is narcotics and controlled substances.  They cannot accept those materials. For more information, call 607.243.8114.

The Western Finger Lakes Authority holds a hazardous waste collection annually, usually in the fall.  For more information, call 1.800.724.3867.
